Fusion Pro 2460 W, 80 W, 100 W CO₂

Fusion Pro 3660 to 200 W CO₂
Fusion Pro 4880 to 200 W CO₂

Where the numbers come from

The values follow Epilog’s own suggested settings from the Fusion Pro material table (CO₂ 50 to 120 W, fiber 30 to 50 W), matched to the wattage you pick. Fusion Edge machines use the same Job Manager settings. Every material batch differs, so treat them as the starting point for a test on scrap.

Epilog speed % is not mm/s

Epilog uses its own speed scale, and it isn’t linear: 100% is not twice as fast as 50%. Don’t convert mm/s values from other lasers into Epilog speed %. Start from the Epilog-unit tables instead, and adjust with a test card.

Using Laser Generator Studio files with Epilog Job Manager

  1. Open the file. Open the exported SVG or PDF in CorelDRAW, Illustrator or Inkscape, or import it straight into Epilog Job Manager. Files are in millimetres, so they land at the exact size.
  2. Make cut lines hairline. Epilog only vector-cuts very thin lines (0.001 in / 0.025 mm). Thicker lines are rastered as engraving. If a red line engraves instead of cutting, set its stroke to hairline.
  3. Split by colour. Red is cut, blue is score, black fill is engrave. In Job Manager choose Combined, then Split by colour, and give each colour its own process.
  4. Enter the settings from the settings page and save them as a material in Job Manager so you only do it once.
  5. Focus with auto focus or the manual gauge, entering the material thickness.
  6. Order and position: engrave, then score, then cut. Use the IRIS camera to place the job on the material.
  7. Air assist on for cutting; lower or off for photo engraving so dust doesn’t settle on the image.

Common problems

Red lines engrave instead of cutting: the stroke is too thick. Set every cut line to hairline before printing to the laser.

Not cutting through: lower the speed % a step at a time or add a pass. For thick wood, run a second pass with the focus moved down to the middle of the material (Color Mapping). Use air assist when cutting.

Cuts deeper on one side of the bed: check mirror alignment and focus.

Fiber Epilogs

The fiber sources mark metals and some plastics rather than cutting wood. Their settings include frequency as well as speed and power. For stainless steel colour marking and metal marking in general, see stainless steel; the Color Hunt studio in the app helps find colour recipes on fiber machines.
