What it makes

The Stands and Jigs studio makes slot-together stands and displays, and jigs for batch engraving. Choose a product, set your material thickness and fit, and the joints are sized so the parts press together. Bed jigs hold many blanks in exact positions so you can engrave a whole batch at once.

How it works

  1. Choose a product.
  2. Set the material thickness and fit.
  3. Adjust the size, lean angle or blank type.
  4. Export, cut and slot together.

Tips

  • Measure the sheet. Real plywood is often thinner than its label.
  • Tune the fit with the kerf calculator for joints that hold without glue.
  • Engraving tumblers flat? Pair the cradle with the tumbler wrap generator.

Batch tip: keep the bed jig on the laser and use the corner square to put it back in the same spot every time.

Export

Parts export as SVG, DXF or PDF, laid out for your sheet.

Questions

Do the stands need glue?

No. They slot together with joints sized to your material thickness and fit setting. A drop of glue makes them permanent if you want.

What is a bed jig?

A sheet with pockets cut to the shape of your blanks, such as dog tags, coasters or keychains. Lay it on the laser bed, drop the blanks in and engrave them all in one go.

What is the tumbler cradle for?

It holds a tumbler on its side, with supports at different heights so the top line of a tapered tumbler sits level for engraving.

Which retail displays are there?

Headphone stands, peg racks, brochure holders, tiered steps and coaster holders, plus jewelry displays: watch pillows, necklace busts, bracelet bars, ring cones and earring boards.

What material should I use?

3 mm birch plywood or acrylic for most stands. Use 6 mm for heavy items like tablets and cookbooks.
